HOW TO BREW CIVET COFFEE (KOPI LUWAK)
1) Choose the amount of coffee: To make your perfect cup of civet coffee, you need brewing time of 3 to 4 minutes. Shorter brewing time leads to watery coffee, longer brewing time make your coffee bitter. Add civet coffee to your drip filter at a thickness of 12 to 15mm, or about 20 g. Press the coffee tightly in the filter.
2) Steam press the coffee: Steaming is an important step to release the fragrance. Steam press take from 5 to 10 minutes. If you do not have a steaming machine, you can warm the drip filter first, then add coffee beans with 15ml boiling water. Press the hot water to make sure it is distributed evenly in the beans.
Use purified water to brew coffee. The civet coffee brewed in perfect condition would be clear with red brown colour.
3) Drip coffee: Line filter paper in another clean drip filter, pour the coffee beans that have been pressed in, and let the coffee drip through. If you like your coffee sweet, add a little sugar (note: civet coffee already is sweeter than the average variations).
4) Enjoy: Enjoy civet coffee hot because it turns sour as it cools. You can also make Vietnamese milk coffee (cà phê sữa đá) with Legend Revived civet coffee, but do not add ice because the ice will ruin the taste of the coffee.
